Lady Falcons Volleyball Shows Progress in Losses

On Saturday the Lady Falcons played at a tournament at Western Reserve Academy. The Lady Falcons started off facing the home Western Reserve team. The Falcons lost in straight sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-11. The Lady Falcons were led in serving by Ashley Greenwood with 3 service points.

In the second match the Lady Falcons came out and were in the game the whole time. We played Akron Garfield. The first set was close the whole way. The Falcons took a 20-19 lead but then could not quite hold on as we ended up falling 25-23. The Falcons were led by Kamilah Dotson with 6 service points and Faith Hardnick with 4. The second set was another close one as the Falcons jumped out to a big lead early. But the team from Garfield fought back and chipped away. The Falcons lost the second set 25-22. The Falcons were led in serving by Kamilah Dotson and Jeri Pollard with 5 service points each. Destinee Thompson chipped in 4 service points.

The third match of the day featured the Lady Falcons vs. the John Adams Rebels, The first set was a little disappointing as the Lady Falcons lost 25-8. We then bounced back with a solid second set. Full of a lot of hustle and overall great teamwork. We won the second set 25-23. It then went to a decisive 3rd set which was close the whole way through. The Lady Falcons ended up losing that set 25-19. It was a long day out at Western Reserve. But every played hard and worked hard.

Monday the Lady Falcons traveled to Warrensville Heights to take on the Tigers. The Lady Falcons played alright in the first set but lost 25-16. We were led in serving by Victoria Montgomery with 4 service points on the day. The second set was even closer as the Falcons lost 25-19. The Falcons played way better together in the second set and you could tell. The Lady Falcons were led in serving by Faith Hardnick with 4 service points. In the third set the Lady Falcons had long 4 point service runs by Victoria Montgomery and Destinee Thompson. The Lady Falcons were ahead most of the set but then gave up some points to end the set. The Lady Falcons lost 25-21. The Lady Falcons have shown much improvement over the last week and will continue to grow and work hard. Thank you for your support of the Lady Falcons!
