Matt Luecke Named Girls Basketball Coach

Lutheran High School East announces Mr. Matt Luecke as its next girls’ basketball coach.

Coach Luecke has been with the boys' basketball program the past two years, serving as a varsity assistant coach and head JV coach.  Prior to that, he coached 7th and 8th grade basketball at St. John Nottingham.

In addition to coaching, Luecke is in his seventh year as a teacher. He has taught Social Studies and Religion at Lutheran East for the past four years.

Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Luecke attended St. Paul Westlake and graduated from Lutheran West High School in 2006. He then earned his degree from The Ohio State University in 2010.

Coach Luecke is recently married to wife Melinda, who is also a Lutheran West graduate and current first grade teacher at Royal Redeemer Lutheran School. They are proud parents of a loving dog named Maci. The couple resides in Lakewood.

Coach Luecke says, “I’m excited to be working with the girls’ basketball program at Lutheran East, where basketball is such a celebrated part of the school community. I’m looking to combine the relationships I’ve built with the girls in the classroom and the recent successes of the boys’ program into an awesome experience!”

A complete schedule for the 2018-2019 season can be found online at LutheranEast.org/Athletics.
